Thank you to our Vets

For the soldiers who fought and fight

Whose visions at times have dimmed the light

They have witnessed the brutality of war

Thank you for speaking allowing us not to ignore

The scars of body spirit and mind

That men in war many times find

The battle rages on in the young and old of our vets

Sometime between the dawn and when the sun sets

Let us remember to pray

And keep them close every day

They gave what we did not

Their memories burn hot

To them we say thank you and gratitude we renew
